We are thrilled to announce the next evolution in the Level product with the release of Automations, our most substantial and transformative feature we've ever introduced.
Improvements
- Our macOS agent has changed from a stand-alone binary to an application bundle.
- No more temporary files for scripts. Our agent now loads the script into memory and executes it without writing to a file. This should prevent many false positives from AV.
- Putting a device into maintenance mode now removes all monitors from the device for the duration. When maintenance mode is toggled off the monitors will start again.
- We've added a first pass at a "performance mode" for our video encoding. If the agent detects a machine with low specs it will significantly drop the encoding settings to use fewer system resources. Expect to see many more improvements to this mode.
- We now standardize the Linux versions in the Operating System filter. Making it easier to select the group of devices you need.
- The change to a macOS app bundle will prevent remote control permission from breaking after agent auto-updates.
- Improved our macOS service account used to install updates so it won't lose credentials after installing operating system updates (on Sonoma).
Bug fixes
- We've made a number of reliability improvements and bug fixes to remote control.
- Clean up any temporary script files that were accidentally left behind.
- Fixed a bug with the install date from some applications on Windows that could cause the application list to be empty.
- We now ignore non-accessible partitions such as Google Drive.
- Fixed a bug that causes "view only" mode to crash the remote control stream.
- A bug prevented the remote control clipboard from working on the login screen for Windows Server 2012 and 2016.
- If the root partition on a Linux machine was located at "/dev/root", we were unable to locate it. This has been fixed.
- Agents were not properly restarting if they received an auto-update directly after a remote control session.
- We're doing a better job at reporting firewall status on Linux. There were some systems where we had difficultly reading nftables and iptables. This should be resolved.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Windows Updates to timeout before they reported the first install progress.
- Script monitors now properly respect the "run as" property on the script.
