Remote control zoom and navigation

Remote control zoom and navigation

Remote support is now more comfortable on high-resolution and ultrawide displays with the addition of zoom and navigation controls. You can zoom in on remote sessions to inspect fine details without sacrificing visibility across the rest of the screen. When zoomed, Level provides intuitive panning controls along with a minimap that helps you quickly navigate around the remote desktop. Whether you're reviewing dense applications, working across multiple windows, or supporting devices with very large displays, moving around the screen is fast and effortless. These new controls make remote sessions more precise and easier to manage, giving technicians a better experience when working on devices of any size or resolution.

Automation triggers view

Managing automations just got easier with the new Triggers view. Instead of browsing automations one by one, you can now see every trigger across your organization in a single, sortable view. The Triggers tab displays each trigger alongside key information such as how many times it has fired and when it last ran. This makes it easy to identify your busiest triggers, verify that important workflows are running as expected, and quickly locate the triggers you're looking for. By organizing automations from the perspective of what starts them, this new view provides greater visibility into your automation ecosystem and helps simplify day-to-day management.

Remote control shortcuts

We've introduced a new shortcuts menu for Remote Control that makes it easy to send keyboard combinations to the remote device, even when your local operating system would normally intercept them. The shortcuts menu includes built-in presets for Windows, macOS, and Linux, along with support for one-time key combinations, personal saved shortcuts, and team-wide shortcuts. Each operating system maintains its own set of relevant shortcuts, making it simple to work across mixed environments. With quick access to common keyboard combinations and reusable shortcuts, technicians can navigate remote devices more efficiently while avoiding conflicts between their local machine and the endpoint they're supporting.

Linux remote control

We’re expanding Level’s remote control capabilities with full support for Linux devices. Technicians can now connect to Linux endpoints directly from Level and provide hands-on support through the same familiar remote control experience already available for Windows and macOS. Linux desktops vary a lot, so we built support across the major graphical session types: Wayland and X11, with coverage for common environments like GNOME, KDE Plasma, XFCE, Sway, and COSMIC. Remote sessions include screen viewing, mouse and keyboard input, clipboard operations, display selection, and automatic stream handling when the active user session changes. This brings Linux endpoints fully into the Level remote support experience, giving teams one consistent place to troubleshoot and manage devices across every major operating system. It also removes the need to rely on separate remote access tools, helping technicians respond faster while keeping their workflows centralized in Level. Supporting remote control across Linux requires working across a wide range of desktop environments, display systems, and session types. This release represents a major expansion of Level’s cross-platform capabilities and brings a complete remote support experience to Linux fleets.

Global updates

We’ve overhauled the Updates page to make it easier to understand and manage available updates across your environment. Instead of relying on a single table where every update appears as a separate row for every device, you can now choose the view that best fits the task at hand. The new By Summary view groups devices that share the same update, giving you a clearer picture of how widely each update applies. By Device organizes updates around each endpoint, making it easy to review everything available for a specific machine. The existing By Update view remains available when you need the full device-by-device detail. With three ways to explore the same update data, you can move more quickly from a high-level overview to the individual devices that need attention, without sorting through unnecessary repetition.

Activity

We're introducing activity, giving you complete visibility into the actions taking place throughout your Level environment. Every meaningful change is recorded, making it easy to understand what happened, when it happened, and who was responsible. Each automation, script, device, monitor policy, device group, workspace setting, and platform setting now includes its own activity history, providing a clear timeline directly where you're working. We've also added a global activity page where you can search, filter, and review activity from across your entire organization. Whether you're troubleshooting an issue, reviewing configuration changes, or preparing for a compliance audit, a history of activity gives you the visibility and accountability needed to confidently manage your environment.

Saved views

We're introducing saved views, making it easy to save and instantly switch between customized device list layouts. Each view remembers your filters, visible columns, column order, column widths, and sort order, so you can quickly return to the information that's most important to you. Create as many personal views as you need for different workflows, or share views with your entire team to standardize how devices are organized and reviewed. When you make changes to a saved view, Level lets you update it, save it as a new view, or discard your changes, making it easy to experiment without losing your existing configuration. Whether you're managing workstations, servers, specific customers, or security-focused views, saved views help you spend less time configuring the device list and more time taking action.

Expanded monitors

We've significantly expanded monitoring capabilities with 23 available monitors that can be added to monitor policies. This gives administrators greater visibility into device health, performance, and operational status across their environment, helping identify issues before they impact users. The new monitors integrate directly into existing monitor policies, making it easy to extend your current monitoring strategy without changing workflows or creating additional policies. These additions provide broader coverage across your managed devices and create more opportunities for proactive issue detection.

Script group permissions

We've expanded role-based access controls to include Script Group Permissions, giving administrators more granular control over who can access and manage scripts within Level. Similar to existing permissions for device groups and automation groups, script group permissions allow roles to be assigned access to specific script groups. This makes it easier to organize scripts by team, customer, or function while ensuring users only have access to the resources they need. The result is a more flexible permission model that scales alongside larger teams and more complex environments.

Linux package management

We've expanded Linux management with native support for package installation, upgrades, and removal across multiple Linux package managers. Administrators can now manage software directly through automations using APT, YUM, Snap, Flatpak, Pacman, and native Linux package management. Three new automation actions—Install Linux Package, Upgrade Linux Package, and Uninstall Linux Package—make it easy to deploy software, keep systems up to date, and remove unwanted packages without relying on custom scripts or manual intervention. This brings Linux software management closer to the same streamlined experience already available across the rest of the platform.

File repository groups

We've added File Repository Groups, making it easier to organize and manage files stored within Level. Similar to device groups, script groups, and automation groups, file repository groups provide a structured way to categorize files and keep repositories organized as they grow. Administrators can create custom groups and sort files into logical collections, making it easier to locate resources, manage large repositories, and maintain consistency across teams. As repositories expand, groups help keep files organized and accessible without sacrificing simplicity.

OIDC SSO and Pacman support

We've added OIDC SSO support for flexible identity provider integration and introduced Pacman package management for Linux devices.

OIDC Single Sign-On (SSO)

We’ve expanded Single Sign-On support even further with OpenID Connect (OIDC), allowing you to connect Level to virtually any compatible identity provider. This gives your organization the flexibility to use the authentication platform that best fits your environment and existing workflows. Admins can configure OIDC-based SSO directly within Level and provide users with a familiar, centralized sign-in experience. Existing users can still be transitioned seamlessly without creating new accounts, helping simplify onboarding and access management. With OIDC support, Level becomes even easier to integrate into modern identity ecosystems while maintaining secure, streamlined authentication across your organization.

Pacman support

We’ve added support for Pacman package management on Linux devices, bringing native compatibility to Arch-based systems. You can now install, uninstall, and manage packages directly through Level without relying on custom scripts or manual terminal work. Alongside package management, Level can now detect installed Pacman packages, identify available updates, and support common maintenance operations like auto-removal, cache cleanup, stale lock recovery, and reboot detection. With Pacman support, Linux device management becomes more consistent and streamlined across your environment, giving you deeper control over Arch-based systems directly within Level.

Google SSO and expanded permissions

This update adds Google SSO support and introduces a redesigned permissions page with more granular access controls.

Google Single Sign-On (SSO)

We’ve expanded our single sign-on support to include Google Workspace, giving you more flexibility in how your team accesses Level. In addition to Microsoft Entra, users can now sign in using their Google accounts, making authentication faster and more familiar. SSO can be enabled at any time, and existing users can be transitioned seamlessly without creating new accounts. Admins remain in full control, with the ability to choose which users authenticate through SSO and switch between methods as needed. With support for both Microsoft and Google, SSO now fits more seamlessly into your existing environment, helping simplify access while maintaining strong security.

Expanded permissions

We’ve updated the permissions page with a cleaner, more intuitive design, making it easier to understand and manage what each role can do across your workspace. Along with the visual improvements, we’ve expanded permission controls to give you more granular access over both management and device-level actions. This includes clearer organization of capabilities like automations, scripts, monitor policies, and device interactions such as remote control and background management. With these updates, it’s easier to define roles, limit access where needed, and ensure the right people have the right level of control across your environment.

Single-Sign On (SSO)

We’re excited to introduce Single Sign-On (SSO), making it easier than ever for your team to access Level using your existing identity provider. With support for Microsoft Entra, users can sign in with their organization’s credentials, eliminating the need to manage separate passwords. SSO can be enabled at any time, and existing users can be transitioned seamlessly without creating new accounts. Admins have full control over who uses SSO and can switch users between authentication methods as needed. Once set up, users can log in quickly and securely through a familiar sign-in experience, reducing friction while improving overall account security. With SSO, you get a simpler login experience and security across your organization.

Local User Visibility

We’ve added the ability to view local users across all devices, no matter the operating system. You can now see a full list of users on each device, along with key details like status, group membership, and last login. This makes it easier to understand who has access to your endpoints and quickly spot inactive, outdated, or unauthorized accounts. Whether you're auditing access or troubleshooting user-related issues, everything you need is now in one place. With better visibility into local users, you can manage access more confidently and maintain a cleaner, more secure environment.

KB Exclusions

We’ve added the ability to block Windows updates by KB, giving you more control over what gets installed across your environment. You can now create a global list of KB exclusions to prevent known problematic updates from being deployed. Each exclusion can include a description and optional expiration, making it easy to track why a specific update was blocked and when it should be revisited. This is especially useful when Microsoft releases a patch that causes issues and needs to be temporarily held back. With KB exclusions, you can respond quickly to problematic updates, avoid widespread disruption, and maintain stability across your devices while waiting for fixes or validation.

Send email report action

We’ve added a new Send Email Report action that makes it easy to summarize automation results directly in your inbox. When this action runs, it generates an email that lists all devices that have passed through it, giving you a clear snapshot of what happened and where. You can include both static and dynamic content in the message. The static body lets you add a consistent message or context, while the dynamic body is variable-enabled, allowing you to insert per-device details like hostname, status, or any other relevant field. It’s a simple way to stay informed without having to dig through logs or dashboards.

One-time trigger

We’re introducing a new One-Time trigger that lets you schedule an automation to run on a specific date and time. Whether you’re planning a phased rollout or a single action at a defined moment, this trigger gives you that control. You can add multiple one-time events to the same trigger, making it easy to queue up several scheduled runs without duplicating automation logic. It’s a flexible option for time-based tasks that only need to happen once.

SMS action and custom field triggers

This update adds an SMS action for real-time text alerts and a trigger for detecting custom field changes.

We’ve added a new SMS action to automations, making it easy to send text messages directly from your workflows. Just enter a phone number and a custom message, and Level will handle the delivery. Whether you’re alerting a technician or notifying a user, this action is another means of providing a fast and simple way to communicate in real time.

Custom field changed trigger

You can now trigger automations when a custom field value changes. The new Custom Field Changed trigger watches for updates across any custom field, so you can respond immediately when key data is added, removed, or modified. It’s a great way to keep workflows tightly aligned with changes in your environment, ensuring actions are taken as soon as important details shift.

New registry, Homebrew, and email actions

We've added registry key actions, Homebrew package management for macOS, and email support within automations.

We’ve added two new actions that allow you to set and delete Windows registry keys directly through your automations. Whether you're configuring devices, enforcing policy changes, or cleaning up legacy keys, these actions give you precise control over the registry without needing to script it manually. With support for setting the path, key name, type, and value, you can confidently apply changes across your environment at scale. And when something needs to be removed, the delete action makes it quick and clean.

Homebrew actions

We’re excited to introduce a new set of Homebrew actions for macOS devices. You can now automate the installation of Homebrew itself, and then use follow-up actions to install, update, or uninstall packages. Setting up new machines and managing software across your fleet has never been this easy. These actions simplify package management and help ensure consistency in your macOS environment. They’re flexible, script-free, and fully automation-ready.

Send email action

You can now send custom emails directly from your automations with the new Send Email action. Just specify the recipients, subject, and body, and Level will handle the delivery. This makes it easy to notify technicians, alert stakeholders, or follow up on key events automatically. No need to rely on a separate email platform or manual messaging. It’s a simple but effective way to keep your team informed and in the loop.

You can now set variables directly in the script editor and use webhooks with event-based triggers and request visibility.

Set variable command

We’ve added the ability to set variables directly within a script, making it easier to pass values to subsequent automation actions. Now, instead of relying solely on the output of an action to assign variables, you can set as many values as you wish, right within your script. This makes it easier to create dynamic behavior, reuse values, and manage more complex logic without the need to carefully format output. It’s a small addition with a big impact on scripting speed and clarity.

Webhooks

We’ve added a new dedicated webhooks section that allows you to send event-based notifications to external systems. Simply enter a destination URL, add a secret, and choose whether to send all event types or just the ones you care about. To help you stay informed and troubleshoot easily, you can review your incoming webhooks requests. This gives you full visibility into what’s being sent, when it was sent, and how it was received, allowing you to confidently connect Level with the rest of your tools.

Run Automation action

We’ve introduced a new Run Automation action that brings more flexibility and structure to how your automations are built. This action allows one automation to pause its workflow, execute another automation, and then continue right where it left off. It’s especially useful for breaking out common tasks that are used in multiple workflows, letting you create reusable building blocks instead of duplicating logic across different automations. Whether you're standardizing processes or just keeping things organized, this action helps simplify maintenance while making your workflows more scalable.

Event Log monitor

Monitoring at the system level just got more powerful. With the new Event Log monitor, you can track specific Windows Event IDs by defining the log name, source, severity, and event ID. This gives you a highly targeted way to surface key events—like failed logins, security alerts, or service failures—without wading through unnecessary noise. By focusing only on what’s relevant, you can trigger alerts or actions based on the exact events that matter most to your team’s visibility and response efforts.

HTTP Request action

We’re adding a new HTTP Request action that allows your automations to communicate directly with external systems and services. You can configure the request’s URL, method, headers, and body, and use variables throughout to send dynamic data that reflects each unique automation run. This opens the door to powerful custom integrations. Whether you’re triggering a webhook, updating a third-party system, or pushing real-time notifications into other tools, this action makes it easy to move data where it needs to go without leaving the Level platform.

We’ve added three new automation actions to help you manage disk encryption with greater ease: Enable disk encryption, Disable disk encryption, and Rotate disk encryption key. These actions allow you to enforce or adjust encryption policies at scale—without needing to manually intervene on individual devices. These actions make it easier than ever before to stay compliant and protected, not to mention keep your Security Score in low risk territory. Plus, you can now quickly view and copy disk encryption keys directly from the device overview, making key retrieval and management faster, safer, and more convenient.

File repository and new actions

We’re introducing a new File Repository that allows you to upload and manage files for use in your automations. With a 2 GB upload threshold, there’s plenty of room for executables, images, and other essential resources. By centralizing your files, you’ll spend less time hunting down assets and more time streamlining your workflows.

Download File actions

Say hello to two powerful new actions—Download File and Download File from URL. The first lets you pull any file stored in your repository to a remote endpoint, ensuring your automations have instant access to the resources they need. The second action fetches files directly from a specified URL, streamlining the process of retrieving external assets without leaving your workflow.

Start/Stop Process actions

We’ve made it easier to control processes in your automations with two separate actions: one to start a process (including support for passing arguments) and one to stop. Whether you need to spin up a program for a specific task or gracefully shut down services to free resources, these new actions give you precise control over runtime operations.

Manage Service action

Finally, our new Manage Service action lets you target running services, choose their startup type, and specify their state—all from within your automations. This added layer of control helps maintain consistent, reliable operations across your environment, removing the need for manual intervention when managing critical background services.

We’ve also made it easier to share your own best practices with others. Once you turn on sharing for an automation, script, or monitor policy, you’ll receive a link you can pass along to fellow users or post online. And if you’d like your resource to be featured in the Level Library itself, you can submit it through the new suggestion page. We’ll review your contribution to confirm it’s safe, secure, and beneficial for the community. Variables can pull data from custom fields to create context-aware workflows, but their use goes far beyond that. They’re available for use in scripts, the run script action, the shell action, and variable conditions, allowing you to input and reference dynamic data across your processes for real-time adjustments and enhanced precision. Whether you’re leveraging variables to enrich scripts, automate tasks, or integrate with custom fields for tailored workflows, this feature enables you to build robust and adaptable solutions. The versatility of variables ensures smarter, more efficient operations with minimal manual intervention. Combined with custom fields, variables elevate your automations to new levels of customization and functionality, allowing your IT management to be more responsive and streamlined.

Run script automations

With the overwhelmingly positive feedback we've received about automations and how it has improved your daily IT workflows, we are now transforming how you manage script execution by replacing traditional script runs and job queues. Running scripts is similar to before, but they now create one-time automations that include a manual-only trigger, a wait-for-approval action, and the script or shell action itself. These automations provide better control, traceability, and security, ensuring scripts are only executed with appropriate oversight and approval. What’s more, script automations can be reused, adjusted, and saved, making them an invaluable tool for ongoing and future tasks. This flexibility means you can build a script automation once and leverage it multiple times, refining it as needed for different scenarios. By incorporating these reusable automations into your workflows, you achieve greater consistency, reduce the need for repeated manual work, and enhance operational efficiency across your IT environment.

Action status conditions

Action status conditions are now available, offering greater control over your automation sequences. This feature lets you set conditions based on the status of previous actions, ensuring that subsequent steps in your automation only execute when specific criteria are met. With action status conditions, you can build more reliable, fail-safe workflows that adapt to real-time outcomes, improving the consistency and accuracy of your processes.

Winget actions

We are excited to announce the addition of winget actions to our automation action repertoire. This new feature allows users to manage third-party applications on Windows devices seamlessly. With the introduction of four new actions—install winget, install winget packages, uninstall winget packages, and upgrade winget packages—administrators can now automate the management of software across their Windows fleet more efficiently. Whether you need to deploy new applications, remove outdated software, or ensure all packages are up-to-date, these winget actions provide the tools to do so effortlessly. We are thrilled to introduce a new trigger type in our automation platform: the Webhook trigger. User Approval action

We are also excited to add a new User Approval action. This feature introduces an essential layer of interaction by requiring end-user approval for certain automation events. This new capability ensures that actions that are sensitive or impactful can be validated by the actual users before execution, aligning automated IT management processes more closely with individual user needs and compliance requirements. The User Approval action allows for a dynamic and flexible approach to automation. End-users receive notifications to approve or delay actions, empowering them to have control over the changes affecting their systems. If necessary, IT administrators retain the ability to override the user decision after a specified number of attempts, ensuring that essential actions can be enforced for security or operational continuity. The Windows Defender scan action allows you to automate the process of running malware scans across your managed devices, ensuring that security checks are both regular and thorough. This helps maintain high levels of protection against malware, viruses, and other threats without manual intervention. On the other hand, the Windows Defender update action automates the updating of Windows Defender’s security intelligence, keeping your systems up-to-date with the latest definitions and ensuring optimal defense against new threats. While the release of automations has been wonderful and very well-received, it's time we start tapping into it's full scope and potential, starting with dynamic tagging. Dynamic tagging allows the application of tags to devices based on predefined conditions. The automation of tagging reduces manual overhead and ensures that devices are always correctly categorized, improving the efficiency of device management. Furthermore, dynamic tagging facilitates precise targeting for deployment of updates, patches, or configurations, ensuring that only relevant devices are affected. This not only streamlines operational workflows but can also enhance security by enabling quick response to vulnerabilities through targeted actions. A standout feature of dynamic tag trigger functionality is the capability to automate tasks based on specific tags. For instance, when you assign the "Office" tag to a device, it can automatically initiate an office setup pipeline, seamlessly installing office-related software on the tagged device. This streamlines the process, making device management more efficient and tailored to your operational needs. With dynamic tagging, multiple new triggers and actions have been added. These include the Tag Applied and Tag Removed triggers as well as the Add Tags and Remove Tags actions. With these four steps, an entire automated world awaits your ensemble of devices.

What would dynamic tagging be without dynamic grouping, a powerful and agile method of organizing and configuring your devices in Level. With dynamic grouping, you can automatically move devices in and out of groups based on specific conditions, allowing IT techs to manage devices with unprecedented flexibility and precision. By automating group assignments, dynamic grouping can be used for device organization that accurately reflects the current state of your device network, adapting to changes without manual intervention. This adaptability is crucial for maintaining optimal performance and security posture. Dynamic grouping, much like dynamic tagging, also simplifies management of diverse device ecosystems, making it easier to apply policies, perform mass updates, or isolate devices for configuration or troubleshooting. With a reduction in oversight required, you and your team can ensure that your devices are managed according to the attributes and needs you deem fit. Dynamic grouping also introduces new triggers and actions to the automation pool. These include the Device Enters Group and Device Leaves Group triggers as well as the Assign To Group action. Osquery shell

Osquery became an important part of the agent when we expanded our device overview to include detailed system information. At the time, we teased that there was more to come from this integration. The time is now: osquery can now be selected as a shell for scripting. Osquery is a cross-platform "operating system instrumentation framework". It exposes a vast amount of system information as a relational database. With osquery, you can write simple SQL statements to return details about running processes, loaded kernel modules, open network connections, browser plugins, hardware events, and many other things. By exposing osquery as a shell option, we allow you to use it in scripts that can target all of your devices. Because it's cross-platform, a single osquery script can return the same information about Windows, Mac, and Linux devices. Better yet, the osquery script can be used in script-based monitors. We felt it time the device overview itself received a new look. We went ahead and improved device navigation, making it easy to access the most important pages and tools. See priority updates and active alerts at a glance, and quickly view up-to-the-minute device health information. We've also added the ability to quickly access remote access tools directly from the page header, giving you quick access to endpoints that need a more hands-on approach.

Detailed device information

Along with the device view overhaul, Level now gathers more detailed information about all your endpoints via the new System tab. A wealth of operating system and hardware information has been collected, allowing a much deeper look into each of your endpoints. We've also broke down disk information more granularly, allowing you to see individual partitions and their occupied and remaining space. We remain committed to delivering the most important information about your endpoints without the need to remotely access them directly.

Session selection for Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)

We’ve added session selection to remote control on Windows. Previously, you were only able to join the Console session. You can now freely switch between Console and active RDP sessions as needed.
